Program status
This is a public walkthrough of the implemented consent flow, prepared for carrier review. It is not a live invitation and cannot enroll you. The SMS program is awaiting server rollout and toll-free verification; this page is not evidence of live message delivery.
1. The owner shares an invitation
An authenticated Got Your 6 user adds an emergency contact. SMS starts as pending. The owner selects Share SMS consent link and shares the secure invitation outside our automated SMS service. Adding a contact or accepting Circle location sharing does not grant SMS consent. Invitations expire after seven days.
2. The recipient reviews the disclosure
The personalized page identifies the account owner, shows the last four digits of the invited phone number and the expiry date, and links to the SMS Terms and SMS Privacy Policy below. Example disclosure for a demonstration owner named Alex:
Disclosure shown before consent
Emergency contact for Alex. By sending the JOIN message below from the invited phone, I agree to receive automated Gotyour6 safety texts from Extension Tech Inc. for this emergency-contact relationship, including emergency alerts, check-in escalations, Track Me updates, stand-down notices and related contact updates. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. Reply STOP to stop all Gotyour6 texts to this number; HELP for help. SMS does not replace emergency services and delivery is not guaranteed.
3. The recipient chooses to continue
The invitation has an initially unchecked checkbox labeled “I have read and agree to the SMS disclosure and terms.” The recipient checks it and selects “Continue to text message.” Opening the page, checking the box or opening the composer does not by itself record consent.
4. The recipient sends the JOIN text
From the invited phone number, the recipient sends JOIN followed by the unique invitation code to +1 (888) 270-5182. The next screen offers “Open text message” and displays the exact command. Example only: JOIN [unique invitation code]. Do not send this example: a real invitation contains its own 32-character code. Sending the actual JOIN message is the affirmative consent action.
5. Confirmation and records
The server checks the sending number and unexpired invitation before enabling SMS for that relationship. It records the phone number, approved relationship, consent timestamp, disclosure version and text, method, and incoming provider message identifier. Duplicate callbacks do not create another consent event. The owner sees active consent. The recipient receives this confirmation after successful activation:
Confirmation message
Gotyour6: You agreed to safety texts for this emergency-contact relationship. Frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop all texts, HELP for help. support@gotyour6.app
STOP, HELP and resubscription
STOP blocks Got Your 6 safety texts to that number across all emergency-contact relationships. HELP provides support@gotyour6.app. START can remove the provider block but does not restore emergency-contact consent: the recipient must request a fresh invitation and send its new JOIN command. The carrier may issue its own STOP or START confirmation. STOP can also block requested sign-in codes. SMS consent is separate from Circle sharing, email and push notifications.
Optional, non-marketing messages
Consent is optional and is not a condition of purchase. No automated invitation SMS is sent to an unconsented contact. Messages are safety notifications, not marketing. Got Your 6 does not dispatch emergency responders, and delivery is not guaranteed. Contact Extension Tech Inc. at support@gotyour6.app for assistance.
