We extend the real world. We don’t replace it.
Extension Tech Inc. is a software company in Markham, Ontario. We design and build our own products end to end — from the app in your hand to the servers, maps and game engine behind it.
Our story
Two products, one instinct.
The name says what we do. Software is at its best when it adds something to the places and people already around you: the café down the street, the friend walking home, the neighbourhood you actually live in.
Boundary came first — a bet that shopping locally could be as engaging as a game, if the game were set in your own city. It grew into a web app, two mobile apps and a multiplayer game that share a single economy.
Got Your Six follows the same instinct somewhere very different. Your phone already knows where you are. It should be able to tell the people who care about you when something might be wrong — and keep that information private the rest of the time.
How we work
Three habits we keep.
Build the whole thing
Web apps, React Native mobile apps, a Unity game, GraphQL and NestJS backends. Owning every layer means we can fix a problem where it actually starts.
Audit ourselves
When a review of Boundary’s backend found unauthenticated operations, every one of its 59 mutations got an authentication guard. We look for problems before users do.
Say what’s true
Got Your Six is in device trials, and we say so. The Boundary game is a working prototype, and we say that too. A safety app, especially, has to be honest about its limits.
